John is a co-founder of Kaika Suru karate alongside Kate, Kyla and Jess.
He has been practicing martial arts since 2003. He has a 2nd degree black belt in Ashihara karate and was ranked 1st in NZ for full contact karate through NZMAC in 2011, 2nd in Oceania for extreme weapons through kyokushin, 3rd in Oceania for full contact, and 1st in NZ for extreme weapons through NZMAC in 2011. He has competed in multiple muay thai and kickboxing fights and is currently also studying Brazilian jiu jitsu. He has a passion for strength and power training.
